About

Pre-health-oriented and passionate about medicine, biotechnology, and community service. A growing interest in healthcare has developed through hands-on experiences volunteering at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, engaging with programs like the ACComPLISH Columbia Health Program, and participating in the school's Biotech and PharmD Club.

Outside the classroom, competing as a varsity lacrosse athlete has built discipline, resilience, and teamwork. Giving back to the community remains a priority — whether spending time with residents at a local nursing home, running alongside children with disabilities, or supporting individuals who are visually impaired. Looking ahead, these experiences continue to shape a long-term goal of pursuing a career in medicine rooted in patient care and community impact.

NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP) Hospital

National Honor Society (NHS)

Assists the Cath Lab with room preparation, including bed setup and restocking supplies such as O2 sensors and non-suction tubing. Supports pre-surgical patients with daily needs and observes live catheterization procedures explained in real time by surgical nursing staff. Working relationships have been built with nurses, physicians, MAs, and PAs through daily exchanges, alongside serving as a patient guide directing visitors throughout the hospital.

Community events across NYC have been supported through hands-on service, including cleanups at NYC park festivals and cheering on runners at the Brooklyn Half Marathon. Regular meetings help plan upcoming events and reflect on lessons learned from past initiatives.

Biotech and PharmD Club

ACComPLISH Columbia Health Program

Biweekly meetings bring discussions on case studies and drug company presentations exploring new medications and the science behind them. Weekly pharmaceutical journal readings and trivia-style games about medications round out the club experience.

A three-month clinical health education program covering disease prevention, patient communication, and emergency response skills, including CPR. Health projects were completed and presented to community members to raise awareness about disease prevention.

Running with Children with Disabilities

Fast Feet NYC, a nonprofit organization. Running alongside children with mental and physical disabilities has fostered teamwork and friendship while building confidence through consistent encouragement and support.

Supporting the Visually Impaired

June–August 2025

VISIONS Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Meals were delivered and mail read for visually impaired members, along with individual support teaching them to operate devices such as iPads. Lasting relationships were built with members through consistent aid.

Nursing Home Volunteering

November 2024–Present

Norwegian Christian Nursing Home and Health Center, Brooklyn, NY. Residents are assisted with daily needs, including locating personal items and clothing, along with transport to physical therapy and church services. Consistent emotional support and companionship have built lasting trust with residents.

Athletics

Varsity Lacrosse

Playing varsity lacrosse has shaped the ability to work under pressure and collaborate with a team toward a shared goal. Training took place five days per week throughout the spring season as a sophomore, building discipline, teamwork, and relationships with teammates from a range of ages and backgrounds.
